This project involved the installation of a custom outdoor fireplace within a fully finished residential property, where access was extremely restricted and tolerances were unforgiving.
The lift path ran through a narrow side access, past completed landscaping, hard surfaces, and a pool area — leaving no margin for error.
To complete the install safely and without damage, the job required a multi-stage, tightly coordinated lifting solution.
Equipment was collected and delivered by crane truck, transferred through the property using a tracked carrier, and then lifted and positioned using a Jekko SPX532 spider crane operating within millimetres of finished surfaces.
Every movement was deliberate. The fireplace components were lifted, slewed, and placed with precision while trades worked in close proximity, ensuring alignment without rehandling or surface damage. The compact footprint and articulation of the spider crane made it possible to work inside a space that would be inaccessible to conventional lifting equipment.
The result was a clean, controlled installation completed without disruption to the surrounding build — a textbook example of how tight-access planning, the right equipment, and disciplined execution come together on high-risk residential projects.
Services used on this project:
Crane truck collection & delivery
Tracked carrier for narrow access transport
Tight-access spider crane (Jekko SPX532)
Precision placement in a finished residential environment
This is exactly the type of project where experience and equipment choice matter — when there’s no room to recover from mistakes.
